Initial Ideas For Our Film

Main Ideas
The genre of our film is going to be a horror film, we plan to follow the code and conventions of the horror genre and use stereotypical characters such as teenagers in our opening. Also we plan to use a variety of shots such as close ups, match on action and mid shots to engage the audience in the action and narrative events. The initial setting idea is in a forest this can be seen in many horror films as it creates tension for the audience because it is an eerie setting where the audience cannot see where all the characters are. The 'killer' in our horror film will walk around the forest stalking each victim and murdering them, at a point in the film one of the characters will go missing and the rest will have to search for the missing character. This narrative will tease and puzzle the audience and engage them in the opening of our film. The possible sound will be the diegetic when the characters are speaking about trying to find their friend. There will also be rustling of leaves which would create tension for the audience. The possible non diegetic sound would be the strained music when there is a climax in the scene. Another non diegetic sound could be a voice over, this could be when a narrator talks over the film. The narrator of the film is used to tell the story and does not necessarily have to be in the film.
